February Newsletter 2026
To keep you updated on all the news and information from the project we will be sending our newsletter out monthly, we aim to send it out at the end of each month.
Just before Christmas we were able to support a family who was moving into new accommodation with some baby equipment and a toy library membership - this was greatly received and appreciated.
When we returned from the Christmas holidays we had a lovely surprise - we received generous donations from some friends of the project. These donations mean the world to a small charity such as ours.
We have used some funding from Hays TravelFoundation to purchased some sensory toys which includes a black out tent, sensory lights, and a trampette. We have more sensory toys on order so watch this space. We have also bought toys and games for the toy library, and games and craft materials for the school aged group at Islamic Cultural Centre - the children enjoyed making Ramadan Cards. We have also been able to purchase some fireguards for over the cold winter months.
We have started buying some Try Before You Buy items such as a Rockit Rocker, White Noise Machine and wobble cushion - this idea came from a community group that we attended. If you can think of any other items that would be beneficial please let us know.
We have also received very generous funding from LNER Customer and Community Investment Fund which will go towards supporting running costs for the whole project. The email was such a lovely surprise to us all.
World Book Day 2026
Is you child’s school or nursery taking part in World Book Day on Thursday 5th March? We have a wide range of fancy dress costumes available to loan from our Toy Library.
Get in touch for more details or check out our range on the website.
Please Remember…
If reserving toys online please book your appointment to visit the Project by either phone, email or Facebook messenger. We are just 2 part time project support workers and if we are out in the community networking, meeting new families, at meetings or on training courses we would hate for you to turn up and we’re not in.
Welcome to the team!
We are very lucky to have two new volunteers joining our team. Katie & Sharon will be working along side our trustees and advisers on our management committee. Katie and Sharon have experience in the charity sector as well as childcare, we are looking forward to working with them both.
